How Apex AI Works
Three Stages. Full Transparency.
1. Upload & Classify
Upload documents via web interface, email, or API. Apex AI identifies document type (contract, invoice, report, etc.), extracts metadata, and routes to the appropriate processing pipeline. Supported formats include PDF, DOCX, and scanned documents with OCR.
2. AI Processing & Confidence Scoring
The AI extracts key fields, checks for anomalies, and assigns a confidence score to each finding. When confidence is high, results are marked "ready for review." When uncertain, items are flagged "needs attention" with the reason for escalation. The AI never auto-approves.
3. Human Review, Override & Export
Your team reviews AI findings in a review dashboard. Approve, correct, or override any result. Every decision — AI suggestion plus human action — is logged with timestamp, user ID, and rationale. Export results as CSV, JSON, or integrate directly with your systems via API.
What Happens When the AI Is Uncertain?
Uncertainty is a feature, not a bug. When the AI encounters an unfamiliar document format, ambiguous data, or conflicting signals, it escalates the item to human review with a specific explanation: what it found, why it's uncertain, and what a human should verify. This is logged for audit purposes.
